COAL AND BLANKET DISTRIBUTION.
Ciiristchuroh, Monday. Tbla afternoon the Mayor was besieged with applications for the coal and blankets which are to be parohased with the money given by the trustees of tbe late Mr Hyman Marks. The majority ot tbe crowd consisted of women of all ages, bat there were nnmbcrß of men inoluded, Tbe applicants were called into the offioe one at a time, bat tbe press at the door became so great that the assistance of a conitable had to be called In. The list of applicants was by no means exhausted, and those who conld not get la to-day will present themselves to-morrow afternoon. The names of the applicants will be submitted to the Charitable Aid Board to ascertain those who are reoelving relief from that body.
