A. bill has been introduced into the Legislative Assembly to give the Government power to resume lands for the purposes of close settlement, and authorise an expenditure of £300,000 annually. It is probable that In the event of the sale of such land it must not bo for a less sum 4han It cost the Government, or if leased the aunual rental must be 4 per cent on the cost, ,
