He thoiißht Mr Johnson's remuneration should be increased — Mr H» Williams moved that the salary 08 increased to £50 a year, to be paid quarterly.— Carried. Sergeant Mitchell also submitted a detailed report showing that 16 oises had been dealt with at Hastings during the month. CASES DEALT WITH. It was reaolved to reduce the assistance (30* a month) given to Mrs Moss, of Hastings, who was in constant employment as a nurse, and who had six children from 10 to 18 years of age. Two of them ', at school are aued 1? and 13. Her husband was qnite blind, and had to be led about. —Mr Rymer said there were several grown-np sons and married daughters in the family. —lt was decided to allow rations for Mr Harvey. Patrick Casey was eranted rations for three months, and firewood for two months. Joseph M'Gabe was granted an order to go to the refuge for a fortnight. ACCOUNTS. Accounts amounting to £121 153 were passed for payment, and the meetiDg adjourned.
