Thursday, July 25. i The Council met at 2.30. BILLS, The Family Homes Protection Bill, Criminal Code Act Amendment Bill, Adoption of Children Bill, Aurkland and Psrnell Endowment Lands Bill, Evidence Further Amendment Bill (all of which had passed the Lower House), were resd a second time. Sir Patrick Bnckley moved the second reading of tbe Contagions Diseases Act Repeal Bill, which came from the Lower House. — Mr Pollen strenuously opposed tbe bill, and moved as a hostile amendment that It be read a second time that day six months.— Sir George Wbltmoro and Mr M'Lean nl«o oppoied the bill, and Messrs Phrm-zyn and Jennings supported 1?. — Tho debate w>'B nrijonrned. The Council rose at 5 p.m.
