MRS NELSON ARRESTED.

ALLEGED LARCENY.

Mrs Nelaon, erabwblle boarding-house keeper of Haaticgj. but now of Auckland, and who was a prominent witness In the Fof/gan Studdon burglary cases at the last Supreme Court sittings', was arrested nt Auckland on Sunday by ActingDetectivo Bailey, charged with the larceny of two pairs bootc, 12 combs, two bottles scent, and two hair brushes, the property of Thomas Miller, fancy goods dealer, Victoria-street, and in the evening ActingDetective Qahke arrested a young woman named Mary Smith, on a charge of larceny of two clocks from the premises of Charles Good, fancy goods dealer, Qaeen-Btreet. As a result of their search they recovered two pairs boots, tbe combs, and two bottles, which Mr Miller identified la his property. Mr Good, fancy goods lealer, Qaeen- street, had also reported on the Slat alt. to the detectives tbe lost of one square American clock and one round one, and the detectives took poesesßion of a clock answering to the marks and description, Active detectives Bailey and Qairk also took possession of a quantity of miscellaneous goods, some with the tickets and trademarks still on, which they believe to be stolen, and for which they want owners.
