Now beginners quickly learn to uso them, and do good work, equal to tho best hand-shearing, in a day or two. Shoarors cam much better wages with tho machines than they could with the hand shears, with much greater enso to thomselves and at less coat. A great deal of extra wool is eot tho first year o£ ÜBing the machines— onough to pay for tho wholo plant. Tho machines aro worth all tho money thoy cost to shear tho lambs alono. W. Simmons has shorn for two seasons with two combs and nine cutters; tho combs ho will uao again ; ho is a good learer— ono of tho best— and no "slouch," as tho following tallies will show :-UG, 155, 186, I 137, 139, 155, 150, 143, finishing up with totals of 2983 and 3293 in tho two seasons.
