[BY TELEGRAPHI. Auckland, Monday. The second day's racing of the Auckland winter meeting was held at Ellerelie to-day. The weather waa line, and the attendance large. The track was in fine order. Major Banks officiated as judge. The following are the results : — MAIDEN HANDICAP HURDLES, Of 60 eovs ; 1J mile. Levanter, lOsb 3ib 1 Pembroke, 9it 101 b 2 Tim, sht 3 Also started: Ida (lOjc 71b), Variety (lflst 21b), KlDg John (lOat), Stamford (9it 71b), Accucea (9it 3.b), Tip (9st 3lb), and Maroro (9*t 31b). Levanter overtook Pembroke at the last hurdle, and woa comfortably by two lengths. King John and Tip fell. Time, 3min 12sec. Liberator and Union Jack alternately led for tbe first three miles, when the latter fell away and Belle and Fishmonger ran to the front. Belle fell at the post , and rails on the hill, and the issue was left to be determined by Liberator and [ Fishmonger. The former never gava his [ opponent a chance, and coming away in , the straight, finished strong, winning easily by three lengths. Time, Bmln 57aec.
