SOUTH AUSTRALIA.
'Adelaide, Friday. The Lieutenant- Governor has received a letter announcing the death of Major John Jervols, son of Sir William Jervois, from an affection of the liver. In the Governor's speech a hope was expressed that a sense of justice will shortly indnce Viotoria to consent to an amlcablo and eqnitable settlement of the border question, and tbns the colony will be restrained from entering on litigation over the disputed territory.
