[FBOM OPB OWN COEEKSPOHDBNT. May 38, 1895. Tbe Native Appellate Court; will sit at HastlDgs on tbe 10(h Jane to bear and determine amoo«r others- art application for a rebearlne by Ratlna Roplha in respeob of Mangapnaka, oi a deoislon dated I3th Jane, 1891, making partition of the land. The rainfall at tbe several meteorological stations in Hawke'a Bay during April was as follows i— Rakamoana 11'451n, Waikaremoana 15'39i0, Petane 6ln, Napier 4 21io, Hastings 2 S4in, Waimarama 4-761n, Mangakari s'l6in, Maraekakabo 2901n, Erewhon 4-lOln, Gwavas 5 06io, Mount Vernon 4-801 d, Te Ante 3'591n, Ormondvllle Biu,- Woodviile 9 301n. Tntlra Lake (Patoka) had the greatest rainfall in the colony with 18'351n. A special meeting of the Walpawa Town Board was held to-day, when were present Messrs Bennett, Rathbone, Scrlmgeenr, and Abrahams. Mr Bennett was appointed chairman of thu meeting, and he read the notice convening id, which abated that it was for the purpose of purchasing a- site tor tbe Town Board's offices. A letter from -Mr M'Greevy wae read, offering section 30 as a site for offices at £120. Oa the motion of Messrs Abrahams and Scrimgeonr id was resolved that section 30, Abbotsford, be purchased from Mr S. M'Greevy. Benr., for the cum of £120. This was the only business done. To prevent misunderstanding, and lest anyone ehould bb tempted again to seek to recover the sale price and a penalty, it will be as well to state that Mr M'Greevy la not now a member of the Board. I trust, however, that should he offer himself for re-eleotlon in due coarse, he will be elected without opposition, bb the Board has not, sines the days ot the late Mr Bennett, had so energetiq and hardworkiDg a member. Dr. Ross, formerly of Wairoa, has purchased Dr. R. von Mlrbach's basicess, and tbe latter left this afternoon for a visit to Auckland and the Hot Lakes, prior to his departure for Germany. He will, however, visit Waipawa to wind np his. business here before he leaves tbe colony.
