London, April 30. A oargo of Viotorian wheat ex Mioronesla resold at 25s 63. The wool sales opened to-day with a ootalogae of 13,905 bales. There was a
| fair attendance, but the lota offered proved to be a poor selection. Competition waa weak. The Home trade were the chief buyers, the foreigners doing nothing. Muoh of the wool offered was withdrawn! Good sorts were abont on a par with Maroh prices, inferior five per cent below.
A Hull firm has offered to buy 20,000 rabbits per week at Is 6_d for large sized and 6d for small, deliveries to begin in London ot the end of August. The firm is willing to sell on commission, if thia conrse Is preferred.
The charges of conspiracy against Oscar Wilde and Taylor were withdrawn, leaving only thoao of misdemeanor. Wilde is n.ow in the witness box. He denies everything, and represents himsell as the vlotlm of blackmail.
The marriage oi Lord William Beresfcrd and tho Duchess of Marlborough has been celebrated.
The Times cautions tho publio against repeating the mistake of recklessly lending monoy to the Australian colonies, thereby inviting needless loans. The paper reads with gratification the statement of tho Premier of Viotoria that he has nq intention of borrowing.
