Sydney, Monday. Id has been raining for a week past, tbe downpour at times being particularly heavy. The northern rivers have overflowed their banks, and the country between Eempsey and Port Macquariie is under water. At the former place five inches of rain, and at the latter ten inches have fallen since Friday last. Mr G. H. Held, Premier of New South Wales, ia tends to bring tbe question of silver colnngo in Sydney and Mel bonrne before the Conference of Premiers which is to be held shortly at Hobart.
