Pbeth, Monday. 'The northern telegraph line is still Interrupted.
ALBANY, Monday.
While the P. and O. steamer Himalaya waa in tbe barbor on Saturday a saltwater pipe from the condensing engine bared, causing a rapid Inflow of water, which could not be stopped for some timg. All the pumps were set going, bnt there .was about five feet of water in the bold before repairs were effected. The height of the water caused the vessel to settle down' considerably, with tbe result that her keel was wltbin a few Inches ol the gronnd, and had she grounded sb« wonld probably have capsized. The steamer proceeded on her voyage on the water being pumped out.
