Hobart, Sunday. The Hon. R. J. Seddon has cabled regretting bis inability to attend the conference of Premiers, and states that the Postmaster-General will probably be present. The Income-tax Commissioner and the Treasnrer ate dissatisfied with the number i of assessments as famished. Many have understated their means, while others have furnished no returns at all. The i Treaaurercontetrjplates proceeding against : offenders. He considers that the Govern- i ment has lost £3000 per annum by the repeal of a divided tax and the anbstitntlon of an income tax. i
