The public of Hastings will bave the opportunities to-night and on Monday night) of seeing what is described as bsinß a really clever, novel, and unique entertainment by the Gourlays and their clever company. Mies Amy Gaurlay (a halfsister, by tbe way, lo Mr John Gourlay of " Skipped by the Light of the Moon" fame) 1b said to be a most graceful actress*, possessing a aweet voice and charming figure, and is a most clever tip-to-date danaeuso. Mr William Gourlay, her brother, is an eccentric and corkscrew dancer of great merit, and is tbe possessor of a Capital baritone voice which he knows how to use. He is said to be especially good in coster eongs and ohnractar impersonations. Mr Morton Prior (tenor) is a serio-comic artist of great ability, and Mr Axel Newton, plaint, has 3 great reputation down S"ntb. "Tbe Rehearsal " nnd " That Awful Girl " are the pieces to be played, ond are full of new songs, new dances, and merry absurdities. The entertainment ia precisely the eame ns the Giurlay and Stokes company gave at Government Hous», Wellington, on Boxing Nlghti, before hi* Excellency the Governor, the Counters of Gioegow and some 500 cf their guests. Hla Excellency and Lady Glasgow wore so pleased with the Gourlays thnb they and a Ift'ge party of friends patronised the performance RRain on Friday, 28th 'December, 1894, at Thomas's Hal). The company has been playing with success along the line from Wellington, and will play at Clive on Tnesday next, and at the Theatre JKoyal, Napier, on Wednesday, Thursday, and Frldoy next week, the 23rd, 24th, and 25th January.
On Sauday night, at Hastings the company will rlvo a sacred concert at the Princess Theatre. Admlsi-ion free. Such favorite songs as " Ni.zireth," "Ora Pro Nobis," "Avo Maria" (from Cavalleria Ruatlcana), and Bevernl other items will be given.
