The Italian troops defeated 10 000 Abyesinians at Coatit. The battle lasted all day. The natives lost heavily, bnt the casualties on the Italian side were slight. A second day's fighting took plaoe, after whioh the Abyssinians: retreated. The Italians lost 102 men in the second engagement.
