Yesterday af ernoon the annual distribution of prizes to the ohildren attending Dean Hovell's bible classes, In the Napier district schools, took place upon tho Deanery lawn. The following nre the no'nea of the successful scholars : — Standard VI.- Sophie Oldham, Mabel Bowman, Dolly Lindsay, HilHa Peterson, Miiud Westoby, Minnie Reid, Edith Wilson. Standard V. — Nora Dick, Agnes (Jhritty, Bella Qannay, Edith Ansten, Agnes Lindergreeu, .Dolly Hannay, Standard IV. — Charles Tuffnell, Georglna BUhop, Annie Blahop, Nellie Siunders, Annie Lound, Annie Uleeney, Pearl Crenswell, Minnie Norton, huby Walker, Beatrice Smythe, Raby Cresswell, Ada Mahon, Florence Heron, Florence Hatch. Standard 111. — Charles Sauuders, Mousley Glenny, Bertie Weaver, Ernest Glenay, Adeline Bennett, Lewis Oldhatn, Carlos Campbell. Florence Austin, Ethel Mahoo, Alice Neilsen, Maggie Mackenzie, Violet Mnyo, Lilhn Heron, Mibel ttadstone, Emma Taylor, Alice Rauzl, Kva .Smith, Maud Mant Millei, ThyraKiog. Standard 11. — James Taylor, Lizzie Elliott, Nellie Taylor, May Thompson, Mabel Greeufield, Emily Cotterlll, Jennie Mackenzie, Amy Neilson, Minnie Nelson. Standard I. — Gabriel Herou, Ethel Siundere, Arbbur Bourgeois. These classes have been uiiinbained by Dean Hovell for the past 13 years. During that) time he has trained about 1200 children, and has distributed over 450 volumes of books as awards to the pupils for attendance, progress, and good oehavlour.
