(Received April 28, 10.20 un.}. Paris, April 25. News has been received that a Frenoh aloop has foundered iv the river St. Claire, Annam, and that thirty soldiers were drowned. News has bean received from the Levant that brigands near Aleppo attempted U kidnap the Frenoh Vloe-Consul at Dlar* bekir. (Reoelved ApiU 27, 12.« a.m,( April 26. The restaurant kept by M. Very, who was the chief witness against Eavaohal, the Anarchist leader, has been wrecked with dynamite. The place was the scene of Ravachal's arrest, hence the outrage. Very was found amid the rains of the building with his legs smashed. He was taken to the hospital, where bis limbs were found to be so mangled that they bad to be amputated, but the poor ' fellow did not survive the operation. Four other inmates oi the restaurant, including Very's twelve-year-old granddaughter, wer9 also severely injured, 1 and were removed to the hospital. The bomb was placed in the cellar -of the building. Many people who happened to be passing the restaurant at the time the explosion occurred were injured by falling debris. Three arrests have already, been made in connection with the outrage. The terrible affair bad aaoh an eflecb on Very's' wife that she has completely lost her reason. Troops are guarding the streets In the city, as it is feared that the Anarchists may attempt similar outrages in other quarters. It is understood that the explosion was intended to overawe the jury in the trial of Ravaohal's four accomplices, whioh begins to-day, Th« police authorities have taken extra pre* cautions to preserve order during the trial.
