Tho celebration of May Day yesterday passed oft' (|uiotly with the exception of some Anarchist- disturbances. An at tempt was made to destroy tho mansion of tha Marquis Trovise, the noted liumauitariau, by dynamite, but without success. Forty thousand troops were garrisoned in this city to proaorve order. Mr Cunningham Oraham, a membor of tho British House of Commons, was conspicuous amongst tho Anarchists, 150 of whom were arrested. In ft conflict between the rioters and tha soldiers at Konrnies one of the latter was killed. At liyons tho Anarchists displayed a strong attitude of hostility and cut 100 telephone cables. Tho officers commanding the milltary threatened to employ cannon in dispersing the mobs, and tho cavalry made repeated charges; many of tho rioters w«re taken into custody. At Chiuliy tho Anarchists fired upon the gendarmes, wounding several. Many of the leadiug Anarchists wero arrested. From Marseilles reports have beeu received that the Anarchists have been turbuleut there.
