NEW SOUTH WALES.
(Received November 21, 9,30 p.m.) Sydney, Thursday. The LubecK, which arrived from Samoa to-day, reports that all waa qniefc when she left on the 9th inst. A joint note was issued by the British, Gerirfan, aud American consuls proclaiming Malietoa king, and requesting the Samoans to reinstate him without delay. When the Auckland schooner Olive was on the point of leaving WaUis Island fifteen natives boarded the vessel and demanded that they should be conveyed to Samoa under threat of murdering the crew. The demand was complied with, as the crew feared the natives would carry out their threat if an attempt were made to put thorn ashore again. (Received Novembor 22, 1 a.m.) Newcastle, Thursday. Four miners named Whitehead, Ryan, King, and White were ascending a shaft in the South Burwood mine this evening when the cage being overdrawn struck the poppet heads. The concussion caused the rope to break, and the men were precipitated to the bottom of the shaft, a distance of 450 feet, and were smashed to pieces.
