Dear Sir,— Being intimato with one of the i Principal Supervisors of Excise hero, I sent him a few dozen of Messrs Speioht & Co.'s Dunedin Beer, with the object of getting an opinion ot the Excise Chemist on it, and I am ; glad to say he has pronounced it one of the i Finest Beers he ever analysed, it having the I high specific gravity of 1080 deg., the greatest amount ot spirit, and the beet quality of acid i he ever came acrosa. i When I tell you that ovcry shipment of Beer going out of the Clyde must be sampled by the Exoise Officers, and then analysed by their Chemists, I consider this opinion is better than anything else I could say on it. , At present the Beor is too flat to send to anyone but an expert in the trade, but as soon , as it comes into condition I will have it dlsi trlbuted.
