HAWKE'S BAY RUGBY UNION.

The new seasons delegates of the Hawke's Bay Rugby Union met at the Criterion Hotel last evening, when the following delegates were present : Napier, G. W. Harden (chairman), J. Orowley; Harriers, J. G. Hughes; Pirates, T. Morrison, G. Whittington; Heretannga, E. Black ; Te Ante, E. 1). Hoben. The late secretary, Mr E. Hohen ; auditors, Messrs E. Black, and H. F. Gibbons. MISCELLANEOUS. A letter from Mr J. P. Smith, offeriuj; the Farndon ground for cup matches, was read, but was held over to be dealt with at next meeting. Taiaroa is captain, Mr Taku deputycaptain, and Mr Hill secretary, was admitted to the Union. A special vote of thanks was passed to Mr E. Black, on the motion of Mr Morrison, seconded by Mr Hughes, for his many services to the Kugby Union during his five years' tenure of the office of hon. secretary and treasurer, All those present united in lauding Mr Black's continuous efforts on behalf of Hawke's Bay football. It was decided to meet again on Wednesday next at 7.30 p.m., to arrange fixtures for 1889. The matches so far arranged, prior to the commencement of the Cup matches are as follows : — April 13.— Pirates v, Harriers. pril 20.-Napier v. Wellington Athletic. April 27.— Pirates v. Poneke (Wellington). Hay 4.— Town v. Country. May 11.— Firat Cup Matches.
