John William Forteseue is gazetted private secretary to the actin». Governor. The appointment of John Blackett, C.Ji., to be consulting engineer in England to the Government of New Zealand la gazetted. . The immigration and emigration returns for the colony for March are published to-night. The arrivals were 1203, the number from Victoria hem-? 507, Irom New South Wales 345, and from HitUnited Kingdom 207. The depaitures . were 1600, of which number 674 left for y'ctona, 562 for New South Wales, and 312 for the United Kingdom. Excers of emigration over immigration for the month was 407 persona. There were no arrivals or departures of Chinese.
