CRICKET.

Rovers v. NArren Fifteen. A cup match in which a great; nmount of interest is taken was commenced on tho Recreation Ground on Saturday between the Hovers first eleven and the fifteen of the Napier Club. The wicket (if it may be so called) was outrageously bad, so bad that balls would occasionally iump over the' heads of the batsmen, and various batsmen were injured more or less severely. The Rovers batted first and only scored 34, Patterson (15) and Harden (S) being top scorers. Edwards and H. Fannin took fire wickets each for 15 and 16 runs respectively. The fifteen on going to tho wickets made 44, Roskruge and Hoffman (7 eacli) being the chief contributors. Millar bowled well and took 9 wickets for 15 runs. The Rovers in their second innings have five wickets down for 54, Hawkins (17) and Patterson (13) are tho only ones who have run into double figures. The scores at present stand as under :— ROVERS.
