QUEENSLAND.
(Received August 13, 1 p.m.) JjRisn.VNE, Saturday. In the Assembly last night the Premier stated that the expenditure for the current financial year is expected to exceed the revenue by £58,000. Retrenchment would be made, he said, in every department of the Civil Service, and he was in favor of an adjustment of the Customs tariff in the direction of Protection.
