THE RAILWAY TIME-TABLE.

Sin, — I notice with some surprise that it is intended to change the hour of depa! hire of the last train from Napier to Hastings from G. 50 to G o'clock p.m. Six o'clock is the dinner or tea hour with ninety-nine people out of a hundred, so I conceive this change must be very inconvenient to the travelling public, especially so to those who stay at hotels. If a change must be made I should think 5.15 or 5.30 would bo a much better time, as it would allow people living along the line who may be obliged to stay in town so late to get to their homes for the evening meal at the ordinary hour. If not too late I venture to commend fhis to the courteous and obliging traffic manager, who to my personal knowledge, is ever ready to consider the travelling public. Perhaps a joint expression of opinion from settlers n&ing the last train might have some effect. —I am, &c, ONK IXTKKIiSTHa
