NEW ZEALAND MUTTON.
Messrs Nelson Bros., Limited, have received the following report from their London house, tinder date April 7th :— Tbe consignments which came to Land per two New Zealand steamers mentioned in our last report havo kopt a quiet trado in full .supply, nnd tbe meat appearing for sale through various channels, buyers havo had the power to boat down prices. They have . been further aided in this by liberal supplies ' of Home killed, and also by tho an-ival of a nice bright cargo of useful sized River Plato sheep, per Dilsberg, some of which made 2s 8d : per Bib. Lambs nro still very slow of sale, while the supply is superabundant. W ith the departure of Lent no doubt the demand will improve, and bo further developed when the weather becomes spring-like ; but prices will probably remain lower than those current at same period last year. We quote average sheep at 2s 9d to 3s ; lamb, superior, is to is 4d , per stone of 81b.
