. . ■ Ottawa, April 14. The Canadian Parliament was opened to-day by the Marquis :of Lansdowne, Governor-General. In his speech Lord Lansdowne. stated that the negotiations between the Canadian' and United States'' Governments relative to the fisheries dispute were progressing, and hopes were , entertained that an honorable' and satisfactory settlementwould result therefrom. In the meantime measures would be' taken to protect the Canadian inshore ■ fisheries. ■ ' • •
