Mails close for tlie undermentioned places :— For Gisborne, Auckland, and Sydney, per s.s. Mnnapouri this day, at 7.30 p.m. For tiio Sandwich Islands, America, West Indies, tlio United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, &c., via San Francisco, on Saturday Ist January, at £' p.m. As the Ist of January, will bo a public holiday tho mail will closo for registered letters and money orders on Friday, 31st inst,, at 5 p.m. Ordinary correspondence and newspapers may bo posted up till the usual hours on Saturday (which will ho notified later on) but the olllco will not bo opened on New Year's Day. This mail will be duo in. London on 7th February. Saturday, 25th inst., nnd Saturday. Ist proximo, being Post-oflico holidays, all Postoilieos will bo closed, and on tlie 27th inst.
