' A 6rickefc match between the Shaw and Lilly white team and an Australian eleven was commenced to-day on the Melbourne 1 cricket ground. -Though the weather wasfine the attendance was only moderate. : An excellent wicket was prepared, and ' the ground was in first-rate order. The Australians winning the toss elected to bat, and when the stumps were drawn they had made 206 for the loss of G ■wickets.
