TOWN AND SUBURRAN RACING CLUB'S SPRING MEETING.

(By Fetlock.) At the time of writing there is every appearance of the above club being favored with magnificent weather for their meeting to-day. Notwithstanding there being no holiday proclaimed in town,' I expect to see a large attendance assembled on tho ground. Coaches and 'busses will .run From town to the course' at frequent intervals at moderate charges. The Garrison Band have been engaged, which is a sufficient guarantee that somo excellent selections and dance music will be provided for the patrons of the racecourse. In all thero are eight events set down for decision, the fields are numerous, and the races open, as must be the case at all meetings of this description j therefore the dividends on tho totalisator should well repay, the .lucky investors who happen to "spot" winners. It is almost futile .to attempt- to. give "tips" on the events, as some of tha animals engaged have never yet,Bported silk on a racecourse, wliilo others hava run very indifferently at various times, through beiug so thoroughly out of condition, but of , those engaged I • prefer tlveiv chances in tho following order :— Maiden Hurdle Race.— Kiinberley, Old Tom, On Trial. Handicap Hurdle Kace.— Shufflo-tho-Brogue, Pilgrimage, Exchange.' .• ■ Maiden Flat Kaco. —Pilgrimage; Mliss, Handicap Pony Race.—Mina, Littlo Wonder, Mermaid. Taradale Handicap.— Sylph, Expelled, Kitty Totara. Selling Race.— Pilgrimage, Mliss, May. Ladies' Purse,— Crossbow, Koreona, Exchange. Plying Handicap. i-Sylph, Kitty Totara, Titiluo.' ../..-■ ,■ ■
