London, May 28. The Now Zealand loau of one million •and a half will be placed on the market to-morrow. Mr Bronnan, of "Victoria, the inventor of the torpedo bearing his name, has received a largo amount from the English Government for his patent rights. The New Zealand loan ia already quoted at a premium of Ik per cent. It is expected that the average will be about £99. The several Age&ts-Gener&l and Sir Charles Topper, Sigh Commissioner for Canada, are urging upon the Government the exemption of colonial securities from stamp duties. The Colonial institute are also urging upon the Government tho necessity of granting more favorable concessions in regard to the importation of colonial wheat. The race for the Manchester Cup was ruu to-day and resulted as follows t— The Manchester Cup, of 2000 soys, added to a handicap sweepstake of 25 soys each, £10 forfeit, winners extra, the second to receive 100 soys, and the third 50 sovg out of - the stakes ; about one mile and three-quarters.
