SYNOPSIS OF NEW _OVEBTIBE_ENTS. Mr Edward Lyndon will sell at his rooms next Thursday morning a quantity of furniture, piano, books, and other effects. The time-table and other particulars are inserted respecting the special train which •will be run next Friday in connection with the races at Kaikora. An advertiser has to let two front rooms, unfurnished. The half-yearly meeting of the Hawke's Bay District of Foresters will be held next Thursday evening in the Foresters' Hall, ■ Dickens-street. The usual meeting of the Alpha Lodge, United Friends, will be held next Friday evening, instead of on Thursday evening. The loser of a ring can recover it on applying to Miss Glenny, Fitzroy-road. Particulars are inserted respecting the Sydney Jockey Turf Club's consultation on the Melbourne Cup. Messrs Kinross and Co. make alterations in the list of the P. and 0. steamers running between Australia and London. Gibbons, representative for Mr Robert Cleave, of the Avenal and Rimu Nurseries, Invercargill, announces that he purposes waiting for orders on the squatters and settlers of Hawke's Bay. Mr Fleming Norton will give his first entertainment at the Theatre Royal this evening. Mr A. Wright, proprietor of the Temperance Hotel, contradicts the statement that the hotel has been closed, and solicits a continuance of the support he has hitherto received. Mrs Tuxford, ladies' outfitter, Emersonstreet, advertises new millinery, Ottoman dolmans, and new dress costumes. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co. insert a list of goods just landed ex Halcione, Highland Glen, Coptic, Ac. Jacob Faithful announces that his consultation will close to-morrow.
