This very simple but ef&eetive application cannot be too strongly praised; it is composed of the Tannin extracted from Gall Nuts and Oak Bark, combined with Glycerine. As may be supposed, it has a most beneficial action on the soft delicate membranes which line the throat and organs of deglutition and articulation. Tannin Gargle should be within the reach of all in the least degree subject to throat affections, whether inflammatory, relaxed, ulcerated, hoarseness, swollen tonsils, enlarged uvula, weakened voice, Ac. Those requiring to constantly employ the voice in speaking, singing, or reading, have, by using the Gargle, the means of preventing the hußkiness, dryness, and irritation bo frequently attendant on over-exertion, also of producing unusually sustained powers without injury to the surface of the throat.
