(Received April 20, 10.40 p.m.) Sydney, Monday. The deac^ock between the Pacific Mail Company and the Seamen's Union still continues. The captain of the Zealandia iB obtaining hands under the protection of the police, and refuses to accede to the demand of the Union that Chinese shall not be employed aboard the vessels. Unless matters can be satisfactorily arranged with the Union the Zealandia will not be able to sail with the outward San Francisco mail on Thursday next owing to the difficulty of obtaining non-unionist seamen. Owing to recent telegrams indicating the probable peaceful settlement of the Rosso- Afghan question the Government consider it at present unnecessary to olose the western channel of Port Jackaon as proclaimed in the Government Gazette on the 15th inst.
