Her. iU) OrFICB » Monday evening. Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co/. •. J^Zus? the following meat report from their X^j dated December 4 :-The market since for has become even more dull, the price ""g^^ New Zealand mutton beiner to-day (27th 1, barely s*d-ssd to 6Jd. The principal oaube Ol •™» is that the supplies from New Zealand have "»«» qnite lately been too fitful. About a month si ™ e ; when prices were 6Jd to 6 Jd, the butchers prefers - not paying such a price for New Zealand mutton, but supplied their customers with Englißh or Dutoh, to which they have by this time become so accustomed, and do not care to change back again. Haft supplies been regular, and the price not gone above 6d per lb, the demand would have been far better, and possibly permanent ; whereas, even with the present low rates and heavy stocks, the demand has to be stimulated and worked up again tie novo. The price for New Zealand mutton may become slightly weaker, but we do no* 1 expect it to go down very materially at present, indeed, at Sid we hope to see a good deal of the present stock Bold. The present stock is remainder of shipments per follow, iniy vessels on hand unsold :— Northumberland, 6097 (arrived August) ; Coptic, 8620 (arrived September 26th) • Florida, 80UO ; Dunedin, about 5000'; Lyttelton, about 9250 ; Aorangi, 5400. The ftgureß I give you may rely on as correct. I do not believe the stock is more. Liguria, 3500. from Australia ;. Zenobia, 880, from River Plate. Total, 46,747* Since November 27th the market has slightly weakened*
