New Zealand securities are quoted as follows :— 6 per cent. 10-40 loan, 103 J ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 103 j 4$ per cent. 1379-130-t loan, 102J; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, UOJ. . The total reserve in the Bank of England is £12,100,000, an increase during the week of £800,000, The proportion of tho reserve to the liabilities has risen from 33 to 41 per cent. The bank rate of discount remains at 5 per cent, j ths markut rate is at 3J. Breadstufis and tallow are unchanged. The market for hidos is firm. (Received January 16, noon.) Melbourne, Friday. The Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (limited) reports of the local markets as follows :— Wheat, in fair demand, at 3s 8d to 3s 9d ; malting barley, dull at 4s 4d to 4s lOd ; New Zealand oats, feeding sorts, Blow of sale, at 3b to 3s 4d ; milling ditto, 3s 6d to 3s 7d, market dull ; New Zealand onts, under bond, 2s 8d to 2s 10d.
