ANNUAL "RAM TjIAIB, TO BE HELD ON THE AGEICULTUEAL AND PA.STOEAL SOCIETY'S GEOUNDS, HASTINGS, WEDNESDAY, 28th JANUABY, 1885. C. B. HOADLEY & CO. Will hold their Annual Sale as above, and have been instructed by Mr H. J. Thompson to offer on acoount of Thomas Tannek, Esq., Eiverslea, Hawke's Bay — J>IVEESLEA PAMS. OAA 2-TOOTH PUEE LINfIV/V COLN RAMS -| JO I, 6, and 8-TOOTH LINCOLN EAMS tin SELECTED 2 -TOOTS STUD OU LINCOLN EAMS 8 SELECTED 4-TOOTH STUD LINCOLN RAMS Bred by the vendor. These Rams are from Mr Tanner's tud flock, and having been carefully seleoted, intending purchasers may rely upon getting the most valuable stock for stud purposes. The 4, 6, i 8-tooth Rams having been used in the Eiverslea tud flock is a sufficient guarantee of their xce enco. At the Annnal Shows of the Hawke's Bay Agricultural and Pastoral Society Mr Tanner for some years past has carried everything before him. In the report of the Show held in October last the Herald says : — "In the Longwool classes Mr Tanner is once more tha chief prizetaker, having beon aworded 6 firsts, 3 secands, 4 thirds, and Messrs Kinross and Co.'s Special Cup for the best pen of 10 long-woolled wet ewes, and Messrs C. B. Hoadley and Co.'s Special Cup for the best pen of twenty longwoolled ewe hoggets not artificially fed." "In the longwool pens some magnificent sheep are to be seen, Mr Tanner's ewes and hog. gets being specially noticeable for the great length and evenness of their fleece. For the first time, we believe, Mr Tanner shows a number of sheep which have been neither housed, clothed or artificially fed since last show, and he was remarkably successful in the classes confined to sheep so treated." The high character of this flock has been attained at great expense in importing from England, and in careful and judicious selection from the best flocks in the colony, competent judges expressing their opinion that Mr Tanner's stud flock could not now be beatan in the colony.
