Hatrison, storekeeper, of Waiman r garo and Denniston, were ascending in an empty truck when the shackling of a descending loaded truck broke, and the full truck dashed into the empty one, killing Brown instantaneously, and seriously injuring Harrison. Brown leaves a wife and eight children. Timaru, Tuesday. Work has been suspended in the Shag Point colliery by an injunction of the Inspector of Mines on account of the workings being in danger of being flooded by the volume of water which has accumulated in the upper submarine workings of the mine.
