(Keceived Febraory 11, It a.m.) Cairo, February 10. Authentic intelligence is to hand to-day that Gordon Pasha arrived yesterday safely ab Berher, a town on the Nil© above the fifth cataract, and is now well on his journey towards Khartoum. A full brigade of Egyptian troop 3is now under orders to proceed to Arsouan, at the first cataract on the Nile on the Nubian frontier, where preparations will be made with the view of opposing the advance of the rebels into Egypt proper. Should this be attempted the troopa will be officered, it is thought, by Englishmen, and the force will be despatched with the least possible delay. (Eeceived February 12, 0.45 a.m.) Gordon Pasha has not yet arrived at Horher, and the statement to the contrary has proved premature. Gordon Pa9ha is not expected to reach Berher until tho 12th inst. It has transpired that the appointment of Admiral Hewitt to the command at Souakitn is made by the Khedive at the ! request of the British Government.
