FROZEN MEAT.

We extract the following from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Age/icy Company's London circular of th t; 29th of June, received by the Brindisi mail yesterday : — The remainder of th<* sheep and the bulk of the lambs es s.s. 'Ihe beef arrived when the market was uader.-tocked, and tbe portion which could be landed in time to anticipate the arrival of American and other kindred forts realised upwards of Od per lb for the fore aud hindquarters taken together In later sales, however, this finnre was not maintained. Por the mutton, prices have been secured ranging from s_d to 6{&, aud occaBionally as hitjh as 7Jil per lb, accordi'g to size and condition. th>- sales to date aggregating about 37u0 out of 5794 carcases. On the 21st instant th:> s.s. Orient arrived witb 2612 carcates on board from Melb.-urne, all being in excellent condition. Only about 100 huve as yet been placed on the market and sold at 6_d to 7^d per lb. The s.s. Fenstanton, from Port Cbalme's, kc, with 8740 carcases sheep is expected to reach this port on the 2nd proximo, to be followed three weeks 1-ter by the s.s. Uritisb Queen from Lyttelton with about GOOO carcases-, the s.s. John Elder from Melbourne, with say 26H0 creases, ani) the s.s. _.usitania from Sydney with 5000 carcases. The general market has been somewhat depressed during tbe past week under t'.-» oombined influences of dull, close weather, and he*..-*' '.reign supplies.
