Boojnm, Captain E. Malo.ney. lewves for the Wairoa at midnight to-night The s.s. Oreti, Captain Alexander Oampoeu, arrived in the roadstead from Auckland Vla y is " borne shortly after 8 o'clock yesterday morning, and was brought inside immediately on arrival ana berthed to the cattle wharf. She had but a" sn l? u quantity of cargo on board for this port, af te r "'*" chargins which she left for Wellington, gettintr <.'* ntside by 11.30 am. She has some notorious characters on board from Mount EOen for the Wellington gaol. - The a.s. Kiwi, Captain James CampbeH. brought np'in the roadstend from Wellington aud the coast stations early yesterday morning. On the passage up she called in at Cape Tnruagain and Castlepoint, ■ at which ports she landed considerable quantities of cargo. Her cargo list for this port amonuted to 70 .tons, which she discharged at the breastwork yesterday. She is announced to steam for Poverty Bay at 10 o'clock ibis morning. ' The p.s. Manaia, Captain W. E. Baxter, could not leave for the Wairoa last eveninir owinar to a quantity of her timber cargo not arriving. She expects, however, to get away this eveninp.
