The repairs to the Sorata are progressing rapidly, and it is expected she will be able to leave for Melbourne in a few days.
It will be remembered that at the time the Sorata was stranded a German old lady died from exposure. An action for libel is now being brought by the doctor of the Sorata against the Port Adelaide News for remarks on his conduct in connection with the lady's death.
The anxiety felt regarding the exploring party under Ernest Gillies, which left Port Augusta last August, has been allayed by a telegram announcing the safe arrival of the party at Mount Elia.
