SAFETY IN BATHING.

Sir,— Now that the bathing season is on allow me through the medium of your valuable columns to draw attention to- the place where the life buoys are at present kept, viz., the lock-up verandah. Now, air, I would suggest that if the buoys are to be of any use, in the event of an acsident occurring, they Bhould be removed round the Bluff, where moat of those who indulge in a dip or swim usually go. A very small expense, which I have no doubt would be willingly subscribed by those who indulge in this very necessary and healthy recreation, would suffice to put up some little covering ■which would sufficiently protect the buoy 3. I need scarcely add that in their present position, should they be required to save life, they would be useless. — 1 am, &c,
