Thongh tho tone of the market ■has not bpen improved by tho latest cablegrams from Home' sellers are slow to recognise the drop, and rather than accept lower pi ices continue to ship. Tho scarcity of tonnage has again become noticeable, and large quantities of wheat are being sent into store at Lyttelton and elsewhere. Transactions in iwheat during the week have not been of. an extensive character. Sellers are averse to quitting at the ' rates' ruling, while buyers ore equally. : guarded in purchasing. Wheat ranges , from 3s 7d to 3s 9d; oats are without alteration, an^are quoted at Is 2d to Is 5d for feed, and Is 6d for milling; barley for feeding is quoted at 3s 6d to 3s 9d.; other kinds range between 2s 6d to 3s ; flour is quoted at £9 10s to £11 ; potatoes, 25s to 30s ; cheese, 4d to sd; Butter; in good demand, B.Jd to 9d.; jnutton, : l4d and ljd to 2d per lb ; beef, 17s 6d to ■SQs'per 100 lb. There were some good lines of pigs at market this week, the bulk of which were taken up by Dunedin buyers at from 4Jd to 5d per lb. Dunedin, Friday.
