Thursday, Fee. 26/ The board met at 11 a.m. Present—The Chief Commissioner (in the chairj, Messrs H. S.- Tiffen, and J. Buchanan. CORBESPONDENCE. The following correspondence #ns read : — From the Rev. C. Penny, on behalf of the widow of the late William Massey, requesting the Board to allow the eale of the interest of the deceased in section No. 4: Woodville Small Farm Association. — The consideration of the matter was adjourned pending the production of Massey's will. From S. Olreste, enclosing cheque for third instalment on section 180, Makaretu.—lt was docided to receive the payment. From the Under-Secretary for Crown Lands, stating that sections 19 and 11, Tarawera, had been temporarily reserved j^rfor telegraph purposes. From the Hanger, reporting on improvements on section 140, Ormondville, Waipukurau Small Farm Association block, that a house of the value of £10 had been erected, and 10 acres of the land cleared, but there was no fencing. — It was ordered that the holder of tho section be directed to fence his land as soon as he has finished burning off. From the same, respecting section 130, Ormondville —Consideration postponed. From the same, respecting section 21, Norsewood.—lt was resolved that, as Carl Johansen had complied with the conditions, he be allowed to pay the balance of the instalments. From the President and officers of the Victoria Small Farm, Association, requesting an extension of time in the occupation of their allotments.—The matter was postponed. takapau survey district. The Board fixed the upset price of section 14, block 4, and section 3, block 10, Takapau survey district, at £2 per acre, as the Board considered that the best of the timber having been cut, the land was not so valuable as adjoining sections. tahoraite district. It was resolved that section 20, block 13, Tahoraite district be temporarily reserved. village op kumeroa. The upset price of sections in the proposed village settlement of Kumeroa were fixed as follows : —Half-acre allotments at £5 ; between half an acre and one acre, £8 per allotment j small farm allotments under five acres, £4 to £5 per acre ; from five to ten acres from £2 5s to £2 10b ; over ten acres, from £2 to £2 10s. Several sections were set aside as education reserves as follows:—Section 6, block l; sections 8, 9, 11, block 7; sections 1 and 15, block 8, amounting in all to six acres. Reserves for general purposes as follows:—-Block 1, section 2; block 2, section 5 ; block 3, section 1 ; block 4, section 2 j block 6, section 4; block 7, sections 7 and 10 ; block 8, sections 5 and 6; all block 5; in all 30 acres. PUKETOI BLOCK. The Chief Commissioner was requested to furnish the Board with information at next meeting as follows in regard to the Puketoi block : —l. Cost per acre to the Government of its original purchase. 2. Expenses per acre for its sub-division into allotments for sale. 3. The expenditure incurred per acre in clearing bush lines of road through the block. 4. The charge per acre that the block may be liable to for general administration. 5. The minimum and maximum values placed on the block by the surveyor who sub-divided it, and the mean rate per acre of his valuation. The Board then adjourned.
