Ho is by the celebrated imported trotting sire > erenader, out of a first-class Victorian steeplechase mare. He waß purchased at a high figure by his present proprietor at the sale of Samuel Gardiner, Esq.'s, Bendoora Park, Victoria, in 187S, and was the highest-priced trotting stallion there sold. From the published pedigree of hit, sire it will be seen that he possesses the best trotting blood in the world. SERENAbBE was a beautiful brown without white, 15 hands 3 inches high, with strength to carry 1G stone, and in quality aild style was a shortlegged built t.-r, ami probably one of the .finest goers in Knglaud, being cocky, easy, and frt'c 1 . Theobald, Ksq., of M-ockwell Surrey, gave 1000 guineas ; he was by Kirkby's Wildfire, who beat Mr Sladc's celebrated black mare, over Sunbury Common, for 400 guineas. Serenade! 1 himself was the winner of tho following prizes :— ln 18G6, at Skipton, Yorkshire, first prize as a yearling ; ISGS, silver medal at Skipton, first at Keighley, and first at Bingley ; in ISG9, first at Aecringtoiij first at Skipton, first at Keighley, first at Bingley (nine competitors), first at Allerten (I ft c(tmpetitors), first at Driglthgtoh, also at Adwalron; in 1870, he took prizes at Queensbury, Halifax, Groat Ilorton, A Ilorton, Keighley, and Bingley ; in IS7I, at Kcighloy and Skipton ; and in IS72 t ttt Sklpton> Keighley, and Bingley, always beating numbers of thd aalrid class ; in 1873 ho took three prizes, including the great Yorkshire Trotting Stallion Prize, open to England, France, and America, for the stallion best calculated to improve the breed of trotting horses, held at Harrowgate (17 competing), Augußt loth; he there beat Mr Cowton's Lord Stanley, winner of the Royal Prize, at Hull, in 1573 ; also first at Islington and Alexandra Park, held in London tho same year. At Melbourne he was exhibited three times, and took honors on each occasion. RERENADER'S DOUBLE is limited to 4J approved mares at six guineas each. N.B.— Serenlder's Double was the winner as a two-year-old of a special prize at the National Agricultural ShoWi Melbournci in 187S, Y< <UNG DUGDALE. This colt, rising 4 years old ( and standing Id£ hands high, is a beautiful dappled bay with black points, possessing grand hair, with splendid bono and temper. He is by Mr Canning's imported horse Dugdale, dam Gipsy, imported from Warrriambool. He is thorougliiy staunch and a sure foal getter, having served several of liis owner's mares last season. GENERAL TOM THUMB, a pure-bred Shetland pony, imported from Victoria by present owner, is descended from the purest Shetland breed, will serve mures at £2 10s each. KING DICK, by Sorenadcr, dam Hepburn's celebrated Victorian trotting mare, a bright bay colt, rising 3 years old, will run with a few approved mares. Terms, £4 4s each. Sir Charles is a beautiful bright bay, 4 years old, stands 17 k hands high,. is strong, active, and good tempered, with great flat bone, and splendid feet, and is a perfect model of tho breed. This splendid animal was bred by J. D. Ormond, Esq,, M.H.R., and is out of Lady by Prince Charlie, a horse that gained first honors every time he was shown, and is acknowledged by breeders to be one af the best horses that ever crossed the line. More of his progeny have turned out prize takers than that of any other horse ever in the colony 3 Lady is by Lord Eglington (imported) out of an imported mare. Sir Charles has been shown four times, and each time carried off first prize ; he has also proved himself a sure foul-getter, not having missed once last season. Teems : £5 for single mares ; two or more the property of the same owner, £4. Groom fees, ss. All mares must be paid for and removed by Ist January. Paddocking will be provided for one month, after which a charge of 2s 6d a week will be made. All mares missing this year will be served half-price next season. HONEST TOM will run with a limited number of mares this season at Mr George Merritt's Paddocks, at Farndon, Honest Tom as now rising five years old, standing 16 hands lin., by Little John out of Young Diamond, one of tho largest prizetakers in Tasmania, Auckland, and Hawke's Bay, and never was beaten. Young Diamond out of Old Diamond, pure Clydesdale mare, by tho celebrated Clydesdale Entire Iron Duko. Iron Duko and Old Diamond both imported to Tasmania by Duncan Campbell, Esq., and as prize-takers were never beaten. Vide New Zealand Stud Book. For symmetry and muscular development they arc unequalled. Young Diamond, four years old, was imported to Auckland by G. P Donnelly, Esq., carrying a foal to one of the best horses in Tasmania ; said foal lias been also a largo prize taker in Auckland, and never was beaten. Young Diamond [was sold at tho Meanee about seven years ago by public auction for the sum of 155 guineas to the late E. A. Carlyon, Esq., from whom Mr George Merritt purchased Honest Tom when nine months old, Young Diamond, the dam, dying when he was only two weeks old, he being therefore brought up by hand. Honest Tom lias boon serving marcs for the last two seasons, and is a sure foal getter, having run and served 53 marcs last season, all of which proved in foal to him. He is considered to be one of the grandest and most compact horses in New Zealand. He is a dark bay with four white points, standing on four short well set legs, bono in proportion. Ho has magnificent loin and barrell, being well ribbed up, and in all points a perfect model of symmetry. Honest Tom when two years old took the first prize at the Hawke's Bay Agricultural Show.
