THE TE AUTE SCHOOL.

Sir,—ln your issue of yesterday a paragraph appears with respect to the above school which is apt to mislead the public. The facts of the case are these :—The school is situated on land rented from Mr Firth. Mr Firth raado an offer to MiWilliams that provided Mr Williams gave half-an-acre for school purposes he (Mr Firth) would £»ive a quarter of an acre of land to make up his share. If the original agreement had been carried out there would be plenty of land for school purposes, as between Messrs Williams and Firth's offer, there would be fully half-an-acre of land.—l am, &c, Charles Leach, Chairman of Te Aute School Committee.
