Lord Lyon's stock have always been Ist prize takers wherever exhibited. Hercules was noted as a prize taker, and firstclass breeding horse. Kob Roy was a famed Stud Stallion. Tibbie gained fust prize at sitranmerin 1854, 1857. aud 1*59 ; Highland Society's first pnze in IS6O ; and first prize afc Strauraor with iwo of her oifspiing, in ISGI. This mare was dam of live pnze stallions. Sussie gained 16 first prizes, wiih nearly as many medals, aud was never beat till 1851, by her daughter Tibbie, mentioned above. Lumlock, prize mare, gained fit at prize at the Highland Society's, and local Shows, till she was 15 years old. Terms — 7 guineas each mare, two or more the property of the same owner, 6 guineas. Mares mußt be removed immediately on the receipt of notice of their being stinted, and all fees paid prior to removal. To prevent disappointment early application is necessary. At the Canterbury meeting in 1876, won the Grand Stand Handicap, 1 mile, in 1 mm. 50 sees., carrying Bst. 71bs., beating six others in the same year ; won the Hawke's Bay Stakes, 2 miles, in 4 mm. 4J sees., beating Fishhook and the Maori Weed. The Australasian, in speaking of the Sir Hercules blood, remarked: — "No family has gained such a reputation as that which descends from the colonial-bred Sir Hercules.
