MAIDEN PLATE, of 20 soys, H miles ; open to all horses that have never won an advertised race exceeding £15 in value ; weight for age. HURDLE RACE, of 20 soys, H miles ; over 7 hurdles 3ft 6in high j welter weight for age. SETTLERS' RACE— A Cup the value of £15 ; 1 mile ; open to all horses in the district of Petane ; weight for age. PUBLICANS' PURSE HANDICAP, of 50 soys ; 2 miles ; with a sweep of 1 soy each (for starters) to go to second horse ; nominations 3 soys ; acceptance 2 soys ; nominations addressed to the Secretary, enclosing 3 soys to be sent to the Petane Hotel by 8 p.m. on Monday ,lst December. Weights will be declared on Friday, 12th December. Acceptance 2 soys, with 1 soy sweep, on -Monday, 22nd December. HACK RACE, of 10 sovs; lmile ; no horse to carry less than 10 stone ; post entry. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of 10 soys ; 1 mile. Entrances to be 10 per cent on public money given ; no qualification fee necessary. All entries received shall be subject to the decision of the stewards. Three horses to be entered for each race or no public money shall be given. All protests must be accompanied with £1 deposit.to be forfeited in the event of being of a frivolous nature. Nominations for all races (except the Publicans? Purse Handicap and Hack Race) with entrance money enclosed will be received by the Secretary, at the Petane Hotol, up to 8 p.m. on MONDAY", 22nd December. Entrance, £1. Catch weights. MAIDEN PLATE, 20 soys ; one mile and a-half ; open to all horses that have • never won an advertised race of more than £10. Entrance, £2. Weight for age. HAVELOCK HANDICAP, 60 soys; one mile and three-quarters. Nomination, £2 ; acceptance, £t. Top weight, lOst, Weights to be declared on December 16. HACK RACE, 10 soys ; one mile. Entrance, £1. Weight not less than 9st. RAILWAY STAKES, 20 soys ; three-quar-ters of a mile. Entrance, £2. Weight for age. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, 15 soys ; one mile. Entrance, £1. All entries received must be on the condition that all disputes shall be decided by the Stewards, whose decision shall be final. Three horses to start for each race, or only half the public money will be given. No one allowed to enter a lior.se unless he is a subscriber of £1 to the race fund. A hack shall be considered a horse that has never run in a weight for age or handicap race. Entries for the Handicap Hurdle, Maiden Plate, Uavelock Handicap, and Railway Stakes must be made by 8 p.m., on December 11, at Mr Reynold's Exchange Hotel, Havclock. Acceptances for Handicap Hurdle and | Havelock Handicap on the day oil the races in the weighing-yard.
