Some further testimony of the capabilities of Hawke's Bay as a grain producing district is furnished by the Sydney correspondent ef the Olago Witness, Writing on the grain exhibits in the exhibition, he says : — " The exhibits of grain, contributed by 157 exhibitors, among whom, Eoyse, Stead, and Co. hold the most important place, cannot be excelled." The sample referred to, we are informed, is from grain grown by Mr John Gemmell, manager of Messrs Royes, Stead, and Co, 's run, Tariroa, Wairoa.' The first anniversary of tho Loyal Hastings Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.TL, will be celebrated this evening by a dinner and .ball, which will be held at Goodwin's Hall.
